Lot Description  

Exquisite 1885 trophy tankard from Calcutta Golf Club - now called Royal Calcutta Golf Club. This trophy pre-dates the club's "Royal" designation by 26 years. Royal Calcutta was founded in 1829. It is the oldest golf club outside of the UK, and the 2nd oldest outside of Scotland (only Royal Blackheath is older). 

Ornate tankard. 4 3/4" tall with a glass bottom.
