The Masters Tournament Par 3 Contest is famously held on Wednesday during Masters Week each year. The fan favorite event has been growing in fame in recent years, partly due to one peculiar fact - the winner of the Par 3 Contest has never gone on to win that year's Masters Tournament.

Despite the possible bad luck associated with the Masters Tournament Par 3 Contest, it is unquestionably a significant part of the Masters Tournament experience.

Offered here is the actual Winner's Trophy from the 1966 Masters Tournament Par 3 Contest. True to the Contest lore, the winner Terry Dill did not go on to win the 1966 Masters Tournament - Jack Nicklaus did.

To our knowledge, only one other Winner's Par 3 Contest tea set has ever been sold before. (See Heritage Auctions, Dec. 2013, Sam Snead's Par 3 Contest Tea Set, Sold for $50,787). This substantial sterling silver tea set weighs almost 13 pounds! It was only awarded for a few years, and was replaced by a crystal bowl in the late 1960s.

The large sterling silver tray (17" x 24") is engraved:
