Offered here is what we can rather reasonably conclude is the only undated Masters flag that is autographed by all 5 men that have completed the career Grand Slam - Tiger Woods, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Gene Sarazen, and Gary Player. We've known about this flag for years, as it has resided in the collection of a prominent flag collector in Canada. Over the years no other examples have surfaced. The flag is impossibly rare due to the fact that Ben Hogan passed away in 1997 when this flag was reportedly only sold at Augusta National to members but not yet for sale to the public. Hogan's death would've been within months, if not weeks, of when these flags first arrived in Augusta, so it's always been heavily debated among flag collectors whether Ben Hogan could have signed a flag before his death, and if so how many. For this reason, JSA does not render opinions on Ben Hogan autographed flags due to the incomplete information on Hogan's ability to sign them before his death. Though we did personally show this flag to Jimmy Spence who agreed that the Hogan signature itself checks out. The other autographs are unquestionably authentic, and Jack Nicklaus' authentication hologram is affixed to the bottom right of the flag.
As we mentioned, this is likely the only Masters flag that is autographed by all 5 golfers to complete the Grand Slam.
