The National Academy of Sports Editors bestows the Victor Award each year to the greatest amateur or professional athlete of the year. Winners have included the likes of Tim Duncan and Serena Williams. Offered here is the 1997 Victor Award presented to "Golfer of the Year" Tiger Woods. This is perhaps the first Tiger Woods trophy that we've ever seen reach the collector market. There is a chance that this Victor Award is a salesman's sample (though it has the exact dimensions of the actual Victor Award). But we also know that Tiger Woods' schedule did not permit him to attend the 1997 Victor Award ceremony, so perhaps this is the original that Tiger Woods never picked up following the televised event.
